I FOUND THE GREATEST ASTRONOMY BOOK
I was at a used bookstore, and I found this AWESOME astronomy book, AMAZING pictures, so I flipped through it.  I find a page called “The Extraterrestrial Dilemma” which sounds cool because who doesn’t like aliens. EXCEPT THAT IT SAYS ALIENS WOULDN’T SHARE THE BLOOD OF CHRIST AND THEREFORE NEVER GET TO HEAVEN AND THAT ONLY ATHEIST SCIENTISTS AND MISGUIDED CHRISTIANS...

While I Was Gone This Week
We were in Connecticut for my Dad’s wedding and then North Carolina picking up our dog and my wife’s new car.  My mint plant got all shriveled up… BUT! I’ve been playing my own Farmville IRL- so I’ve been trying to grow apple trees, avocados, and cherries from their respective seeds and pits.  When I checked on my apple seeds, almost all of them had sprouted and...

My cousin is one of the hookers in the trailer for ‘Ted’. She had an awkward time at my dad’s wedding last weekend.

Favorite Summer Beverage?
firstclassroom: The husband and I plan to enjoy some adult beverages on the patio tomorrow, but we can’t agree on what to have. He enjoys Capt & Coke, where as I am tired of it and want something more summery. So, of age followers, can you meet this challenge? Must include alcohol, and a minimal amount of ingredients/measuring. And must be delicious! Firefly (Sweet Tea Vodka) and...

So I Got Really Close to Adopting a Puppy...
There were three 8 week old lab mix rescues outside a pet store. They were just playing so we picked one up to hold it. Way too cuddly and sweet for me to make an informed decision. Thankfully, my wife has more common sense. With stuff for school, moving, everything- we don’t have the time or money for a tiny $70 puppy… Even if it was adorable… And needs a home…

Add Another Thing to the List
- New job - New house - New step-mom for Father’s Day - NEW CAR FOR THE MRS. I think we’re done now (hopefully). Waiting for the car to arrive so we’re at the in-laws’ house until Friday/Saturday. Ps- The guy at the Honda dealership got really frustrated when we asked about their “Honda appreciates teachers and students” banner- ya know, since I’m a...

Entering Education: For a Fellow Tumblr-er:... →
1. Did you have to meet on campus at all during the semester for anything (advisor, class, seminar, etc.)? If so, why and how often? We had (almost) weekly seminars where we would discuss things that were going well and things that we needed help with, but mostly we talked about the things that we needed to turn in over the course of the semester (there was a lot of paperwork).  Those meetings...

I Feel Pretty Awesome Right Now
The reason why I couldn’t have a real interview in Charleston county a month ago was that the district wasn’t allowing principals to release what positions were going to be open.  After all, Charleston is holding these “intensive interviews” where 90 candidates get dwindled down to 15 before going and talking to principals, and those 15 go on a special list.  Those 15 names...

So I Watched The Evernote Seminar...
It got me really excited, but I’m fairly certain my school doesn’t have wi-fi… Still learned a lot of cool things that you can use Evernote for.  I already had some ideas, but whoa, huge influx of ideas.
